“The Scripture teaches that the only truly free people in the world are those who have made Christ their Savior, Master and Lord. Jesus Christ said, ‘Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.’” —Billy Graham
A call for missions, the church, people everywhere, to free the oppressed, defend the fatherless, orphans, widows, and destitute.
Galatians 5:1 “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery [human trafficking].”
Throughout the Old and New Testaments, the idea of Freedom is expressed. God desires that His people be free. Seven times in the book of Exodus, God’s direct message to Pharaoh through Moses was, “Let My people go.”
Abolition
Abolition of human trafficking involves combating modern-day slavery through efforts like advocacy, survivor support, demand reduction, and international task forces, focusing on preventing exploitation, rescuing victims, and prosecuting perpetrators, recognizing it as a massive global crime exploiting vulnerable individuals for sex or labor, now organ harvesting.
Inspired by abolitionists, President Abraham Lincoln, slaves Frederick Douglass, and Harriet Tubman, and Christian William Wilberforce. Many, like Douglass and Tubman, escaped slavery themselves and dedicated their lives to freeing others and fighting for equality. Wilberforce fought to end slavery through legislation in Britain in the 1800s.
Psalm 82:3: “Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute.”
Galatians 5:13, “For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.”
Ephesians 3:12, “In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.
Luke 18: 7-8, “And will not God give justice to his elect, who cry to him day and night? Will he delay long over them? I tell you, he will give justice to them speedily.
