Child Brides

A child under the age of 18 who is married, or is to be married, to an older man; generally, child brides’ marriages are arranged by their parents for the girls’ financial safety or to take the financial burden off the family. The majority of these girls (women) who were rescued or escaped here have testified that they were repeatedly raped and beaten by their husbands. There are major non-profits that are partnering with groups such as Girls Not Brides. Documents state, ”protects girls and boys of all ages from abuse, violence, and exploitation.”
